On the south east side of the island Krk, situated on a precipitous rock on 50 m of highness is located the picturesque town of Vrbnik.

A whiff of the past is reflected in a tight streets- Vrbnik has the tighten street on the world. The antique houses, a middleaged churches and a castle give a special charm to this place. The main church with a marvellous renaissance altar Ružarica and the chapel of Saint John the Baptist, the protector of the town, are the most significant sacral monuments of Vrbnik. Except in the buildings the history is noted in the old Glagolitic handwritings and documents that are held in the main church and in the Vitezić library. The Glagolitic inscriptions are visible on the streets in the old town and the lovers of the expositions can visit an interesting exposition in the steeple.

Except for it Glagolitic heritage, Vrbnik is known for it's excellent white dry autohton vine - Vrbnička Žlahtina. The gastronome will be thrilled in the vine cellars, restaurants and taverns of Vrbnik.

For the lover of tanning and swimming Vrbnik and it's surroundings offer marvellous gravel beaches with crystal clear sea.
