Premantura is a town which is located at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula. This town has been populated since the Bronze Age and it is an absolute haven for visitors and inhabitants alike. Premantura has everything from accommodation: apartments and rooms in private homes and campsites to many fine restaurants. Every campsite has access to the sea as well as all the necessary facilities.
What Premantura is best known for is the long and narrow peninsula of Kamenjak. It is 9,5km long and is encompassed by 30km of coastline dotted with numerous coves, pebbled and sandy beaches, cliffs and canyons. Cape Kamenjak is also surrounded by many islands. Across from the Cape lies a little island with a 34m high lighthouse called Porer. For guests who are looking for a romantic getaway, an apartment within the lighthouse of Porer is available for rent.
Premantura is an excellent place for the active tourist. Due to the strong winds in the late summer and early fall, it is the perfect place for wind-surfing and sailing. Guests can also take part in such sports as tennis, miniature golf, and lawn-bowling as well as make use of other sports and recreational facilities.
Restaurants in Premantura are known for their fine cuisine and specialties such as fresh fish and seafood. Visitors can also enjoy festivities such as The Crab Festival on May 1st and the most important festival, Lovrecevo on August 10th which is the feast of St. Lawrence, the patron saint of Premantura.
